Christian Astrology

modestly treated of in three books

In Lilly's table of the planets' fortitudes and debilities, being retrograde counts as a debility of 5 and being direct as a fortitude of 4. In horary questions he treats a retrograde or impeded lord of the 7th house, and Saturn retrograde in the ascendant, as grounds for caution before judgement; in questions of illness, a retrograde planet signifying the disease means its prolongation and relapse.
