SEASON I · SOUTH NODE
5 Mar – 10 Apr 2034
37 days on which the Sun stands within 18.5° of the Moon’s south node, at 3° Aries mid-season. Retrograde during it: Saturn (12 days) and Uranus (6 days).
Four eclipses fall in 2034, in two eclipse seasons: total solar eclipse on 20 Mar, penumbral lunar eclipse on 3 Apr, annular solar eclipse on 12 Sep and partial lunar eclipse on 28 Sep. Mercury is direct at every one of them.
Each wedge spans 18.5° either side of the lunar node the Sun passes in that season, drawn at the node’s place mid-season: the nodes slide back about 19° a year. Solar eclipses sit on the outer ring at the Sun’s longitude, lunar ones on the inner ring at the Moon’s.
Where the seasons meet the retrogrades
Retrograde windows run from the station-retrograde day to the station-direct day, both counted, in UTC — the same windows as the 2034 retrograde calendar.
SEASON I · SOUTH NODE
37 days on which the Sun stands within 18.5° of the Moon’s south node, at 3° Aries mid-season. Retrograde during it: Saturn (12 days) and Uranus (6 days).
SEASON II · NORTH NODE
38 days on which the Sun stands within 18.5° of the Moon’s north node, at 23° Virgo mid-season. Retrograde during it: Mercury (6 days), Venus (6 days), Jupiter (the whole season), Neptune (the whole season) and Pluto (the whole season).
Eclipses and times of greatest eclipse are computed with astronomy-engine and checked against NASA’s eclipse catalog; see the method.
